The Epistle to Philemon, often referred to simply as Philemon, was written by Paul the Apostle and Timothy and addressed to Philemon, a wealthy Christian leader in the Colossian church.  In the letter, Paul deals with forgiveness and reconciliation.  This is especially heartfelt since Paul sent the letter to Philemon accompanied by one of Philemon’s runaway slaves who had converted to Christianity.  The letter was written from Paul’s prison cell in Rome around 61 AD.
