The Epistle to the Philippians, typically referred to as simply Philippians, was the last of the four Prison Epistles to be written by Paul.  Written near the end of his imprisonment in 61-62 AD, it was to be delivered by Epaphroditus.  However, Epaphroditus fell ill and was forced to stay in Rome longer than expected.  Thus, delivery of the letter was delayed.  In the letter, Paul expresses his appreciation and affection for the Philippian believers.
