The Second Epistle of Peter, often referred to as Second Peter, was written in the name of Saint Peter but its authorship is questionable.  It was one of the last letters included in the New Testament and thought to be one of the texts in dispute before the canon was finalized.  In the book, Peter criticizes “false teachers” and calls on Christians to wait patiently and study the scriptures.  It is related to First Peter by a line in which the author noted this is “the second letter I am writing you”.  The date it was written is unknown and could be almost any decade between 60 AD and 160 AD.
